Performances at the Bolshoi Theatre

Founded in 1824, this theatre is home to the iconic Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera companies who are among the oldest and most-renowned in the world. Classical ballet and operatic performances take place in the magnificent theatre. It seats 2,000 people. Costumes and sets are mainly made in the Bolshoi’s own workshops.
